Christmas prep - surreal... confusing... awkward...

I (Bruce) just went to the grocery store.

So, there was Frosty the Snowman playing, and I instinctively glanced around and noticed that the first 10 people I saw were wearing shorts and flip-flops like myself. Then came a techno-mix of Jingle Bells. This pretty well sums up the last 5 Christmas's we've spent in Brazil. However, this year will be different. We will be stepping into the fridge (Minneapolis) next week... then into the freezer (Winnipeg) the following.

As I left the store, I turned on my car's air-conditioning full-blast as I proceeded home through the sand dunes... because #1. I thought that might help me get a little bit more into "the season", and #2. Because this is always what I do to try to beat the heat. Somehow the air-onditioning did the trick a bit more than my beach massage earlier in the day, the landscaping I did with our gardener, or topping off the water in our outdoor pool.

Happy Christmas prep everyone!!!

  1. Happy New Year and Happy Birthday, you world travelers! Enjoy the snow and ice of the north so you can enjoy the warmth of Brazil when you get back home. Love you!
